The Opportunity:

As the Head of Psychology and Sociology, you will lead a dynamic department and inspire students to achieve outstanding results. This role is ideal for an experienced and passionate educator who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and shaping the future of online learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Psychology and Sociology departments, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and deliver Key Stage 5 Psychology and A Level Sociology curricula.
  • Support the self-evaluation of the school’s effectiveness and drive improvements in teaching and learning.
  • Inspire and motivate students through engaging and purposeful subject knowledge.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance course delivery.
  • Contribute to assessments, reports, and student progress tracking in a timely manner.
  • Participate in meetings, staff development, and other duties as required by the line manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified to degree level with a recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Experience in the secondary or college sector, including state or independent school backgrounds.
  • Excellent subject knowledge in Psychology and Sociology.
  • Ability to create and review course materials and resources.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience delivering IB Psychology and A Level Sociology.
  • Pastoral experience, such as form tutor roles.
  • Experience with online teaching and learning environments.
  • Ability to drive best practices and deliver high-quality educational materials.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, collaborative working culture.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £34,500.00 - £42,500.00 per annum.
