The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Head of Psychology to teach A Level Psychology and lead a thriving department. This is a full-time or part-time (three or four days a week) role, ideal for someone who is committed to academic excellence and student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach A Level Psychology to Lower and Upper Sixth groups using a blend of traditional and digital learning methods.
- Lead the Psychology Department and work closely with the Academic Leadership Team to ensure the department runs smoothly.
- Manage a sixth form tutor group, providing academic and pastoral support to students.
- Deliver engaging extra-curricular activities, including enrichment programs and forensic science initiatives.
- Promote the subject of Psychology within the school and support students in their academic and personal development.
- Utilize technology and digital tools such as Google Classroom and AI platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
- Participate in the ACE Programme and contribute to the school’s co-curricular and academic life.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience teaching the AQA Psychology syllabus at A Level.
- Ability to lead and manage a department effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Support for the ethos and values of an independent boarding school.
Preferred
- Experience with educational research and its application in teaching.
- Familiarity with digital learning tools such as iSAMS, Google Suite, and AI platforms.
- Experience in running extra-curricular activities or enrichment programs.
- Passion for Psychology and a commitment to inspiring students.
