The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Head of Psychology to teach A Level Psychology and lead a thriving department. This is a full-time or part-time (three or four days a week) role, ideal for someone who is committed to academic excellence and student support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach A Level Psychology to Lower and Upper Sixth groups using a blend of traditional and digital learning methods.
  • Lead the Psychology Department and work closely with the Academic Leadership Team to ensure the department runs smoothly.
  • Manage a sixth form tutor group, providing academic and pastoral support to students.
  • Deliver engaging extra-curricular activities, including enrichment programs and forensic science initiatives.
  • Promote the subject of Psychology within the school and support students in their academic and personal development.
  • Utilize technology and digital tools such as Google Classroom and AI platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Participate in the ACE Programme and contribute to the school’s co-curricular and academic life.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience teaching the AQA Psychology syllabus at A Level.
  • Ability to lead and manage a department effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Support for the ethos and values of an independent boarding school.

Preferred

  • Experience with educational research and its application in teaching.
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools such as iSAMS, Google Suite, and AI platforms.
  • Experience in running extra-curricular activities or enrichment programs.
  • Passion for Psychology and a commitment to inspiring students.
