The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate Psychology and Sociology Teacher to join a growing department and support students in their GCSE studies. This is a fixed-term position with the potential to become permanent. The role offers the chance to shape the curriculum and contribute to the development of a forward-thinking Humanities Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Psychology and Sociology to students across all ability levels, up to GCSE.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students.
  • Contribute to the development and review of the Psychology and Sociology curriculum.
  • Support the wider Humanities Department through collaboration and shared planning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Encourage student leadership and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at Key Stage 4 (GCSE level) or equivalent.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting students of all abilities.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or department leadership.
  • Familiarity with the latest teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience with newly qualified teachers or those returning to the profession.
  • Passion for promoting student leadership and personal growth.
