The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential in-class and small group support for students with additional learning needs. This role plays a vital part in fostering academic success and emotional resilience, while supporting teachers in creating an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with additional learning needs through tailored interventions and in-class assistance.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and support sessions.
• Organise timetables and prepare resources to ensure efficient department operations.
• Provide administrative support to the Learning Support Department and SENCo.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement inclusive teaching strategies.
• Promote student independence and emotional development.
• Adapt to changing department needs with flexibility and professionalism.
• Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience supporting students with additional learning needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in an educational setting.

Preferred

• Experience delivering targeted interventions for students with learning difficulties.
• Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies.
• Knowledge of special educational needs and disability (SEND) policies.
• Experience with record-keeping and data management systems.
