A school is seeking a Head of Mathematics to lead a thriving department and build upon its successful achievements. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student achievement and engagement in Mathematics.
- Oversee the planning, delivery, and review of Mathematics curriculum and assessment practices.
- Support and mentor Mathematics staff to enhance teaching standards and professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate Mathematics into cross-curricular learning and enrichment activities.
- Monitor and report on departmental performance, ensuring alignment with school-wide goals and standards.
- Promote a positive and inclusive department culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Represent the Mathematics department at school meetings, staff conferences, and external events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a Mathematics department within a school setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- In-depth knowledge of Mathematics curriculum and pedagogy at all key stages.
- Experience in developing and implementing departmental strategies to improve student outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar leadership role within a co-educational school.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies in Mathematics education.
- Experience in curriculum development or assessment design.
- Strong record of student achievement and departmental success.
