Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the music department, ensuring a high-quality and engaging curriculum for all students.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student musical performance and achievement.
- Encourage and support the creation of original compositions and performances of the highest standard.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to advise on curriculum development and teaching methodologies.
- Promote the school’s musical activities both within the school and in the wider community.
- Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in music education and performance.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages musical growth and enthusiasm.
- Support the school’s mission to provide a well-rounded and inspiring education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or educational setting.
- Strong background in music teaching and performance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire students and staff.
- In-depth knowledge of curriculum development and music education.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to promoting inclusivity and student well-being.
Preferred
- Experience in managing a large and diverse music department.
- Strong leadership and management experience.
- Experience in working with students of all ages and abilities.
- Familiarity with the latest teaching and rehearsal techniques in music education.
- Ability to contribute to the school’s broader educational and cultural initiatives.
