Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the music department, ensuring a high-quality and engaging curriculum for all students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student musical performance and achievement.
  • Encourage and support the creation of original compositions and performances of the highest standard.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to advise on curriculum development and teaching methodologies.
  • Promote the school’s musical activities both within the school and in the wider community.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in music education and performance.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages musical growth and enthusiasm.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong background in music teaching and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire students and staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of curriculum development and music education.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a large and diverse music department.
  • Strong leadership and management experience.
  • Experience in working with students of all ages and abilities.
  • Familiarity with the latest teaching and rehearsal techniques in music education.
