The Opportunity:
As the Head of Pupil Progress, you will play a key role in driving academic success and ensuring pupils are well-prepared for their next educational steps. This is a leadership position that combines teaching responsibilities with strategic oversight of pupil progress and assessment. The role is ideal for someone passionate about education and committed to making a real difference in students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English and Maths to pupils in upper KS2
- Introduce and champion evidence-based educational practices tailored to the school’s context
- Maintain strong academic links with RGS Guildford (Senior)
- Communicate academic progress effectively to staff, parents, and governors
- Lead initiatives to engage parents in pupil progress
- Analyse assessment data to identify trends and areas for development
- Support pupils' successful transition to senior schools of choice
- Line manage designated staff members
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in primary education
- Strong understanding of assessment and pupil progress
- Experience in teaching English and Maths
- Leadership experience, including line management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Preferred
- Experience in leading academic initiatives or change programmes
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and educational software
- Experience working within a school with a strong pastoral and co-curricular focus
- Background in independent or selective education
