The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring Religious Education Teacher to join our Humanities faculty and help shape the learning experiences of students aged 11–16. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and inclusive curriculum, working with a diverse student body and a supportive team of educators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Religious Education at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including Philosophy and Ethics.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of a stimulating and relevant RE curriculum.
  • Ensure high-quality teaching and learning that promotes student progress and engagement.
  • Support non-specialist RE teachers with resources and planning.
  • Deliver intervention programmes during school holidays, before/after school, or on weekends.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to CPD.
  • Maintain a stimulating classroom environment with displays of student work and resources.
  • Monitor student progress, attendance, and behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Support the school’s marketing and recruitment initiatives through events and outreach.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Education.
  • Ability to teach RE and Philosophy and Ethics to students aged 11–18.
  • Commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching History or Geography.
  • Experience with AQA RE syllabus and thematic studies.
  • Familiarity with ICT integration in teaching.
  • Experience in pastoral support or student engagement.
  • Background in working with diverse student populations.
