Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in Maths and/or English, including GCSE-level instruction.
  • Build strong, nurturing relationships with students and support their academic and personal development.
  • Plan engaging, creative lessons that are relevant and challenging for all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals to support children’s learning and well-being.
  • Manage complex and challenging behaviors with patience, consistency, and emotional intelligence.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s academic and extra-curricular curriculum.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Post Graduate Education Certificate (PGCE)
  • Proven record of good or outstanding teaching practice
  • Excellent communication and emotional intelligence skills
  • Ability to teach a subject specialism to GCSE or equivalent level
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs and managing challenging behaviors
  • Experience of delivering a creative and academically engaging curriculum

Preferred

  • Experience of working with disengaged or hard-to-reach families
  • Experience in crisis management and therapeutic support
  • Background in trauma-informed practice
