Primary SEND Teacher opportunity at a new specialist school for children with complex needs.

A specialist SEND primary school for children aged 4 to 11, offering a calm, structured, and nurturing environment focused on individual progress and well-being.

The Opportunity:

As a Primary SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of a new and growing school. You will lead a small class of up to 8 pupils with a range of needs, including SLCN, ASC, and developmental delay. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a founding team and to influence the development of outstanding SEND practice from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualised teaching tailored to complex and diverse needs
  • Create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes safety and understanding
  • Design and adapt a personalised curriculum to meet the needs of each child
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider team to ensure consistent and high standards of support
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the school as it expands from one class to full provision
  • Engage in reflective practice and ongoing professional development
  • Support children in making meaningful progress across all areas of learning
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each child

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in SEND education
  • Proven track record in delivering high-quality teaching to children with complex needs
  • Strong understanding of SLCN, ASC, and developmental delay
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to inclusive and person-centred practice

Preferred

  • Experience working in a small, specialist setting
  • Familiarity with the Undershaw Education Trust or similar organisations
  • Experience in curriculum design and adaptation for individual needs
  • Passion for shaping the future of a new school
