The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Religious Education and Class Teacher who will lead the RE curriculum and deliver high-quality teaching to Key Stage 1 and 2 students. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and committed to shaping young minds in a Catholic school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching to Key Stage 1 and 2 students.
  • Lead and develop the Religious Education curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school’s values and mission.
  • Support and mentor colleagues in the delivery of RE.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning across all subjects.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider pastoral and academic life.
  • Ensure the implementation of the school’s vision for spiritual and moral development.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 1 and 2.
  • Strong understanding of Religious Education in a Catholic school context.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a subject or department.
  • Willingness to undertake further training, such as CSI inspector qualifications.
  • Experience in co-educational settings.
  • Familiarity with the CCRS (Catholic Curriculum and Resource Service).
