The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean and safe environment across the school site. This role is essential to the smooth running of the institution and offers the chance to work in a welcoming and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain classrooms, accommodation, offices, and public areas to the highest standard.
  • Conduct deep cleaning of dormitories, offices, and classrooms during school holidays.
  • Report incidents, accidents, theft, or damage to supervisors promptly and take necessary action where safe.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure all areas are kept tidy and hygienic.
  • Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with the organisation and management of housekeeping tasks and schedules.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role, or willingness to learn with full training provided.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including some weekends during term and summer school periods.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an educational or boarding environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  • Basic understanding of custodial equipment and cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff and students.
