Head of Sixth Form – Lead and shape a new Sixth Form College at a leading UK boarding school.

The Opportunity:
As the Head of Sixth Form, you will lead the personal development and residential experience of all Sixth Form pupils, playing a central role in preparing young people for life beyond school. This is a unique opportunity to shape the culture of a newly established Sixth Form College and drive innovation in pastoral and academic support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the culture, vision, and ethos of the newly established Sixth Form College.
- Oversee the residential provision for Upper Sixth pupils and manage the Residential Life and College Administration and Pupil Support (CAPS) teams.
- Coordinate all Higher Education applications and support pupils in their academic and personal growth.
- Work closely with senior leaders and key colleagues across the school to ensure a cohesive and inclusive environment.
- Deliver evening and weekend residential duties, ensuring a high-quality residential experience for students.
- Foster a supportive, aspirational, and inclusive community that promotes the wellbeing and academic success of all pupils.
- Implement innovative initiatives that respond to the needs of students and enhance the overall Sixth Form experience.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring a consistent and high-quality pastoral and academic support system.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in pastoral management within a boarding context.
- Strong leadership and management experience, ideally in a Sixth Form or similar setting.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and develop new systems or structures within a Sixth Form environment.
- Experience in supporting pupils’ academic progress and Higher Education applications, including UCAS processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues.
- Commitment to the wellbeing and personal development of young adults.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a Sixth Form or similar educational setting.
- Background in residential leadership or management within a boarding school.
- Experience in developing and delivering co-curricular and pastoral programmes.
- Strong track record in fostering independence, academic ambition, and wellbeing in students.
- Familiarity with the UK education system and Higher Education admissions processes.
