The Opportunity:

As the Head of Sixth Form, you will lead and inspire a vibrant community of students preparing for the next stage of their academic and personal journey. This role offers the chance to shape a forward-thinking Sixth Form that supports pupils in achieving their full potential and preparing for life beyond school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Sixth Form community to ensure academic and pastoral success.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their highest potential through effective leadership and support.
  • Foster an inclusive, aspirational, and supportive culture within the Sixth Form.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to provide a cohesive and enriching experience for students.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Sixth Form, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, ensuring their well-being and academic progress.
  • Represent the Sixth Form at school events and engage with parents and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably within a Sixth Form or similar role.
  • Strong track record in pastoral care and student support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK education system and post-16 pathways.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a large and diverse student cohort.
  • Familiarity with independent school environments.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development or academic leadership.
