The Opportunity:
As the Head of Technology, you will lead and manage the Technology Department, including Food Technology and Design Technology. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology education and ensuring students receive a high-quality, engaging learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Technology Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and progress across the department.
- Oversee the teaching and learning of Food Technology and Design Technology at KS4.
- Support and mentor department staff to enhance their professional development and performance.
- Collaborate with other Heads of Departments to maintain a cohesive and effective school culture.
- Ensure the use of data to inform teaching and learning practices.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching and leading a Technology Department.
- Demonstrable record of success in improving student outcomes and teaching standards.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Experience in using data to drive improvement in learning and teaching.
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Food Technology and Design Technology.
Preferred
- Experience in managing a large and diverse team of teachers.
- Background in curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience with CPD and staff development initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
