The Opportunity:

As the Head of Technology, you will lead and manage the Technology Department, including Food Technology and Design Technology. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology education and ensuring students receive a high-quality, engaging learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Technology Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and progress across the department.
  • Oversee the teaching and learning of Food Technology and Design Technology at KS4.
  • Support and mentor department staff to enhance their professional development and performance.
  • Collaborate with other Heads of Departments to maintain a cohesive and effective school culture.
  • Ensure the use of data to inform teaching and learning practices.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leading a Technology Department.
  • Demonstrable record of success in improving student outcomes and teaching standards.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Experience in using data to drive improvement in learning and teaching.
  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Food Technology and Design Technology.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a large and diverse team of teachers.
  • Background in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with CPD and staff development initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
