The Opportunity:

As a Head of Year, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing a year group, ensuring academic progress, pastoral care, and a positive learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and contribute to a school that values aspiration and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the achievement, progress, and pastoral provision for a year group of students.
  • Oversee the strategic direction of the year group, including self-evaluation and improvement planning.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, attendance, achievement, and behavior.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to support a cohesive school community.
  • Implement school policies and initiatives that promote student well-being and academic success.
  • Collaborate with other Heads of Year and senior leadership to drive school-wide improvements.
  • Support the development of students through targeted interventions and enrichment activities.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment that upholds the school’s values and mission.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrated awareness and commitment to safeguarding and the protection of pupils.
  • Experience in leading and managing a year group of students.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Experience with curriculum development and delivery.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with data analysis and student progress monitoring.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary on the Teachers Main to Upper Pay Scale (Surrey) - £34,398 - £52,490 + TLR.
