The Opportunity:
As a Head of Year, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing a year group, ensuring academic progress, pastoral care, and a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the achievement, progress, and pastoral provision for a year group of students.
- Oversee the strategic direction of the year group, including self-evaluation and improvement planning.
- Monitor and report on student progress, attendance, achievement, and behavior.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to support a cohesive school community.
- Implement school policies and initiatives that promote student well-being and academic success.
- Collaborate with other Heads of Year and senior leadership to drive school-wide improvements.
- Support the development of students through targeted interventions and enrichment activities.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment that upholds the school’s values and mission.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Demonstrated awareness and commitment to safeguarding and the protection of pupils.
- Experience in leading and managing a year group of students.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience in pastoral care and student support.
- Experience with curriculum development and delivery.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Experience with data analysis and student progress monitoring.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary on the Teachers Main to Upper Pay Scale (Surrey) - £34,398 - £52,490 + TLR.
- Condensed school year with a two-week half term in October.
