The Opportunity:
As the Head of Year - Sixth Form, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in the sixth form. This is a leadership position that demands strong organisational skills, a commitment to student welfare, and the ability to inspire and guide a team of educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the academic and pastoral needs of sixth form students.
- Develop and implement strategies to support student achievement and well-being.
- Coordinate with subject leaders and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide targeted support where needed.
- Represent the school at relevant meetings and events.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider community.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures.
- Support the school’s vision and values in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or educational setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and supporting sixth form students.
- A relevant teaching qualification and experience in education.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development or strategic planning.
- Experience with pastoral care and student welfare initiatives.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement processes.
- Experience in leading large teams or managing complex projects.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range from £52,408 to £72,670.
