Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team of staff, ensuring a culture of excellence and inclusion.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to further enhance the school’s educational outcomes and student well-being.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider community.
  • Oversee the delivery of a rich and engaging curriculum, including real-world learning experiences.
  • Ensure the school maintains its high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
  • Promote and support the professional development of staff across all levels.
  • Manage and develop the school’s resources, facilities, and partnerships effectively.
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a secondary special school setting.
  • Strong teaching background with a deep understanding of special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and achieve outstanding outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Full UK teaching qualification and relevant leadership experience.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a school rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience in curriculum development and student progression planning.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
