Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Modern Foreign Languages team.
  • Deliver and oversee the curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support staff through ongoing professional development and curriculum innovation.
  • Monitor and improve student attainment across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to maintain the school’s reputation for academic excellence.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the learning area.
  • Ensure all students are prepared for GCSE and beyond, with a focus on Oxbridge progression.
  • Promote the value of language learning and its impact on student achievement and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching Modern Foreign Languages from Key Stage 3 to 5.
  • Leadership experience within a learning area or department.
  • Strong academic background and a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in curriculum development and CPD provision.
  • Ability to drive up attainment and support staff development.

Preferred

  • Experience in exam marking or examiner roles.
  • A track record of driving student success and Oxbridge progression.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in leading a large, high-performing team.
