Finance Assistant - Maternity Cover role available at a school in the North West of England.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and well-organised Finance Assistant to provide temporary support during a maternity cover period. This role will involve assisting with financial operations and ensuring the smooth running of the school’s financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the School Business Manager and Assistant School Business Manager with financial operations.
  • Handle daily finance tasks, including processing orders, invoices, and payments.
  • Maintain accurate records in SIMS Finance 6.
  • Ensure all financial systems are up to date and well-managed.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a problem-solving approach.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Assist with administrative systems, both computerised and manual.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs Grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
  • Recent experience of working within a financial environment.
  • Experience in maintaining computerised and manual administrative systems.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be discrete and confidential in all aspects of the role.

Preferred

  • Experience working in school finance.
  • Experience with educational IT-based systems.
