The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with complex needs and help them thrive in a nurturing and inclusive school environment. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students through targeted interventions and personalized support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with complex needs through targeted group-based reading interventions and individualized learning plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENDCo and external professionals to develop, implement, and review EHCPs and Individual Education Plans.
  • Adapt resources and teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students across the curriculum.
  • Promote confidence, independence, and positive engagement with learning for all pupils.
  • Undertake relevant training to build specialist skills in supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Contribute to the overall inclusive culture of the school by working with staff and external partners.
  • Provide high-quality support that aligns with the school’s mission and values.
  • Assist in creating a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with pupils with complex needs and additional support requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to inclusion, high expectations, and nurturing the whole child.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering targeted reading interventions.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and Individual Education Plans.
  • Experience working with external professionals and agencies.
  • Experience in a Catholic or faith-based school setting.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar.
