The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Health and Social Care Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ futures by delivering high-quality education and supporting them in their academic and career journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Health and Social Care lessons to students in Lower and Upper Sixth.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized teaching and learning strategies.
  • Utilize dedicated IT facilities and interactive resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with the Biology department to promote a culture of active learning and practical engagement.
  • Review and develop teaching methods to ensure they meet the needs of all learners.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in preparing for further study, apprenticeships, or employment.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Health and Social Care.
  • Strong knowledge of the BTEC Extended Certificate curriculum and AQA syllabus.
  • Experience in delivering practical and theoretical lessons to post-16 students.
  • Ability to manage and motivate students in a classroom setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in using IT and interactive learning technologies in teaching.
  • Background in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Experience in working within a Catholic educational environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
