The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Temporary Applied Science Teacher to join a dynamic and highly motivated department. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on student achievement and to contribute to a department known for its outstanding results and strong team spirit. The role is temporary and offers flexibility in terms of FTE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Applied Science lessons to students across a range of qualifications, including Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
  • Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues to support student progress and achievement.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities to enhance the learning experience.
  • Maintain and develop laboratory resources and ensure safe and effective use of facilities.
  • Support students in preparing for further study, apprenticeships, or employment through tailored guidance and enrichment opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Applied Science curriculum.
  • Assist in the supervision of students during practical sessions and trips.
  • Engage with industry and academic speakers to enhance the relevance and quality of teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Applied Science or a related subject.
  • Ability to teach Level 2 and Level 3 Applied Science qualifications.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Experience working in a school or college environment.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A level Physics.
  • Familiarity with BTEC qualifications and practical science teaching.
  • Experience in leading or supporting departmental initiatives.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
