The Opportunity:

As High School Principal, you will lead a transformative phase in the school’s evolution, guiding a transition to a new curriculum model that combines the IB Diploma Programme with a bespoke Foundation Year. This role offers a unique chance to shape the future of education in China and to drive innovation in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the High School community, ensuring a culture of academic excellence and student well-being.
  • Oversee the implementation of a new curriculum model, including the transition from IGCSEs to a Foundation Year and IB Diploma Programme.
  • Provide instructional leadership, supporting teachers in developing innovative and effective teaching practices.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the broader school community.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align school-wide strategies with the institution’s vision and mission.
  • Ensure the school maintains high standards in academic achievement, student engagement, and staff development.
  • Promote the school’s values, including compassion, integrity, and balance, across all aspects of school life.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the High School, ensuring smooth functioning and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role, preferably as a High School Principal or in a comparable position.
  • Demonstrated success in driving curriculum innovation and educational reform.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A deep understanding of both Chinese and international education systems.
  • Experience in managing large teams and leading strategic initiatives.
  • A commitment to the school’s mission of developing the whole person and fostering global citizenship.

Preferred

  • Experience with the IB Diploma Programme or similar international curricula.
  • Familiarity with bilingual education and cultural immersion programmes.
  • Background in leading a school through significant transformation or strategic change.
  • Experience in boarding school environments or international schools.
