Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and enhance the learning experience of students through tailored interventions.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality educational outcomes.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of lesson plans and activities.
  • Provide targeted support to students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the school’s leadership programme and character development initiatives.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) standards or have equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Experience of working with children in a secondary school or similar setting.
  • Experience of supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
  • Strong organisational and technical skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
  • Familiarity with Star Academies’ values and mission.
  • Experience in delivering leadership or character development programmes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
