The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Teacher of Geography to join our dynamic department on a temporary basis. This role offers the chance to contribute to a well-respected Geography department that delivers outstanding student outcomes and offers a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Geography up to GCSE, with some support in KS3 RE and History.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons using a range of resources and technologies.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Geography curriculum, including extracurricular activities.
  • Support student learning through effective classroom management and high-quality teaching.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student achievement.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Promote a positive school culture aligned with the school’s values of Respect, Responsibility, and Excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in a relevant discipline and a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Geography up to GCSE level.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the 11-18 curriculum and best educational practices.
  • Strong classroom presence and the ability to inspire and motivate students from KS3 to KS5.
  • Effective ICT skills with an understanding of how technology can enhance teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching RE and/or History.
  • Experience in curriculum development and creating teaching resources.
  • Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular activities in Geography.
