As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching staff, delivering curriculum content, and contributing to the development of students and academy policies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in the planning, delivery, and assessment of the curriculum.
  • Assist in the management and preparation of resources for lessons.
  • Supervise whole classes in the absence of teaching staff.
  • Provide individualised support to pupils to help them become independent learners.
  • Contribute to the development of other support staff and academy policies.
  • Support pupil welfare and ensure inclusion in all aspects of school life.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to inform teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to improve student outcomes and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a teaching or learning support role.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum delivery and assessment methods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Experience in alternative provision or special educational needs settings.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing teaching strategies.
