The Opportunity:

As Principal, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a vibrant secondary school, shaping a culture of high aspiration and social mobility. This is an exciting time to lead a school with a clear vision, strong relationships and a commitment to excellence in education and pastoral care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a clear, inclusive vision that promotes social mobility and high aspiration
  • Ensure consistently strong teaching, learning and curriculum quality across the academy
  • Champion inclusive practice, supporting all pupils, particularly those with SEND or disadvantage
  • Develop leadership capacity and foster a culture of professional learning and wellbeing
  • Build strong partnerships with families, communities and external agencies
  • Maintain accountability for educational performance, pastoral outcomes and the day-to-day life of the academy
  • Work closely with the Trust executive team and Local Accountability Board to drive improvement
  • Promote a calm, focused and aspirational culture across the school community

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a school leader, ideally as a serving Principal or senior leader ready for headship
  • Strong moral purpose and a track record of improvement in education
  • Ability to inspire confidence across diverse stakeholders
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Experience in developing inclusive practices and supporting disadvantaged students

Preferred

  • Experience within a multi-academy trust or collaborative network
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
  • Experience with professional development and leadership capacity building
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching and technology practices
