Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with additional needs, including those with social, emotional, or mental health difficulties.
• Deliver one-to-one and group sessions to help students improve academic performance and motivation.
• Work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team and other staff to ensure a consistent approach to student support.
• Coordinate and welcome new agency Teaching Assistants as needed.
• Provide a calm, purposeful, and inclusive environment for students.
• Assist in implementing whole-school priorities and curriculum needs.
• Respond to the specific learning and behavioural needs of pupils with autism.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with secondary-aged children.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, especially those with social, emotional, or mental health difficulties.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work proactively and engage pupils in challenging situations.
• Willingness to undertake emergency first aid training.

Preferred

• Previous experience working with young people with autism.
