As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with additional needs, including those with social, emotional, or mental health difficulties.
- Deliver one-to-one and group sessions to help students improve academic performance and motivation.
- Work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team and other staff to ensure a consistent approach to student support.
- Coordinate and welcome new agency Teaching Assistants as needed.
- Provide a calm, purposeful, and inclusive environment for students.
- Assist in implementing whole-school priorities and curriculum needs.
- Respond to the specific learning and behavioural needs of pupils with autism.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with secondary-aged children.
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, especially those with social, emotional, or mental health difficulties.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work proactively and engage pupils in challenging situations.
- Willingness to undertake emergency first aid training.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with young people with autism.
