Summary:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism and associated needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with learning activities and care needs
  • Promote independence and encourage positive behaviour
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to create a safe and supportive environment
  • Assist teachers in delivering a broad and engaging curriculum
  • Adapt to the varied needs of students and be flexible in your approach
  • Collaborate with staff to develop individualised support plans
  • Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing
  • Participate in staff meetings and training to enhance professional development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 3 or above)
  • Experience working with SEN students (paid or voluntary)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies

Preferred

  • Level 2+ qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Knowledge of SEN, SEMH, or ASD
