The Opportunity:
A Higher Level Teaching Assistant is needed to provide nurturing support to neurodivergent pupils and those with anxiety or behavioural challenges. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners and contribute to a supportive, inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in Years 5 to 8 with academic and personal development needs.
- Implement strategies to help students regulate emotions, engage in learning, and thrive.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create individualised learning plans.
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.
- Provide consistent, empathetic support in a structured and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist in delivering a wide range of curriculum activities and extra-curricular opportunities.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage student confidence and self-esteem.
- Participate in professional development and training initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with neurodivergent pupils or students with anxiety and behavioural challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos of inspiring, challenging, and growing students.
- Relevant qualifications in education or related fields.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting, particularly with middle years students.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
- Experience with behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques.
- Familiarity with the use of technology in education.
