The Opportunity:

The Senior Careers Advisor will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of career education at the school. This position is ideal for someone passionate about helping students develop effective career management skills and understand how to maintain long-term employability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a vision for careers provision that meets the Quality in Careers Standard (QiCS) and exceeds the Gatsby Benchmarks.
  • Deliver one-to-one careers guidance to students, supporting them through key transition points.
  • Create and deliver online and written resources to enhance self-awareness and employability skills.
  • Coordinate and manage careers education workshops, events, and conferences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, employers, and Old Etonians to provide opportunities for students.
  • Support the Director of Eton Futures in organizing the annual Eton College Futures conference.
  • Facilitate entrepreneurship education and enterprise initiatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of careers education through surveys and feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Qualification in Careers Guidance / QCG / D Level 6 or working towards it.
  • Membership of the Career Development Institute (CDI).
  • Registered Career Development Professional (RCDP) or commitment to achieving this.
  • Proven experience in senior-level career education.
  • In-depth knowledge of career education legislation and guidance theory.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong ability to plan, implement, and manage programs and activities.

Preferred

  • Experience with the SPHERE programme or similar career development initiatives.
  • Knowledge of current technologies used in career services.
  • Experience in working with diverse student populations and leading in a multicultural environment.
