Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative music lessons that inspire students and foster a love for music.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners and aligns with the school’s educational vision.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent improvement and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular learning and whole-school initiatives.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages participation and creativity.
- Participate in staff development and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
- Support students in developing performance and musical skills through extra-curricular activities and ensembles.
- Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and senior staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in teaching music at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and composition.
- Ability to create and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting all students to achieve their potential.
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment in music education.
- Familiarity with digital tools and resources for teaching music.
- Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular music groups or ensembles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
