Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative music lessons that inspire students and foster a love for music.

  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent improvement and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular learning and whole-school initiatives.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages participation and creativity.
  • Participate in staff development and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
  • Support students in developing performance and musical skills through extra-curricular activities and ensembles.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and senior staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching music at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and composition.
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting all students to achieve their potential.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment in music education.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and resources for teaching music.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular music groups or ensembles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
