Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History & Politics to students across all year groups, including A Level and Oxbridge preparation.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and innovative lesson plans that encourage critical thinking and discussion.
  • Support the school’s extra-curricular programme, including societies, events, and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Provide pastoral support to students and maintain strong communication with parents and guardians.
  • Stay up to date with current events and developments in History and Politics to enrich teaching.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through mentorship and leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree in History and Politics or a related field.
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching History and Politics at secondary level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level and preparing students for Oxbridge entrance.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities in History and Politics.
  • Leadership experience within a teaching department.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
