Key Responsibilities:
- Teach History & Politics to students across all year groups, including A Level and Oxbridge preparation.
- Develop and deliver engaging and innovative lesson plans that encourage critical thinking and discussion.
- Support the school’s extra-curricular programme, including societies, events, and enrichment activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s curriculum and teaching methods.
- Provide pastoral support to students and maintain strong communication with parents and guardians.
- Stay up to date with current events and developments in History and Politics to enrich teaching.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
- Contribute to the wider school community through mentorship and leadership.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree in History and Politics or a related field.
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching History and Politics at secondary level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
Preferred
- Experience teaching A Level and preparing students for Oxbridge entrance.
- Experience with extra-curricular activities in History and Politics.
- Leadership experience within a teaching department.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
