The Opportunity:
As a History Coordinator KS3, you will lead the development of a knowledge-rich History curriculum for Key Stage 3, working collaboratively with a passionate and ambitious team. This role is ideal for someone who is driven to inspire students and deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and lead the development of the Key Stage 3 History curriculum.
- Support colleagues in delivering a high-quality, engaging, and ambitious History programme.
- Monitor and assess student progress through half-termly assessments and provide targeted support where needed.
- Foster a collaborative team culture and encourage shared learning and professional development.
- Ensure alignment with the National Curriculum and the school’s educational vision and values.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school’s CPD programme.
- Promote a culture of innovation and critical thinking in History teaching and learning.
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure consistent standards and outcomes across the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Strong subject knowledge in History and understanding of the National Curriculum.
- The ability to inspire and motivate students across a range of abilities.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
- A reflective approach with a drive for continuous improvement.
- A commitment to the ethos and values of the school.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum leadership or coordination.
- Experience with KS3 History teaching and curriculum design.
- Experience in professional development and mentoring.
- Experience with National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) or similar.
