The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging History lessons to students aged 11-18.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes critical thinking and a deep understanding of historical events.
  • Support students in achieving high academic standards and preparing for GCSE and A Level examinations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best practices.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote the school's values and ethos.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral and professional development activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Experience in teaching History at Key Stage 3 and 4, with an understanding of A Level requirements.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering high-quality History lessons that promote critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
