The Opportunity:

A History Teacher is sought to inspire a love of history in students and contribute to the school's outstanding academic success. This is a unique opportunity to grow as a teacher and leader within a supportive and high-achieving department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality history lessons that engage students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to enhance student learning and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of History and department colleagues to improve departmental performance.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized learning and assessment.
  • Promote the Catholic ethos and values within the classroom and school community.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events related to history.
  • Maintain accurate records and assess student progress in line with school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in history.
  • Experience in teaching history at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Experience with A-Level history teaching.
  • Background in Catholic education or community involvement.
  • Leadership potential with a vision for future roles in the department.
