Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote critical thinking and a deep understanding of history.
- Prepare and assess students effectively, ensuring they achieve their full potential at GCSE and A Level.
- Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and support the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
- Lead and participate in extra-curricular activities, including history societies, trips, and seminars.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance cross-subject learning and student engagement.
- Provide pastoral support and contribute to the overall academic and personal development of students.
- Stay up to date with current events and historical research to ensure a relevant and stimulating teaching practice.
- Support students in university applications and career guidance through UCAS groups and seminars.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS or equivalent.
- Proven experience in teaching History at both GCSE and A Level.
- Strong track record of achieving high academic results.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to the school’s values of academic excellence, innovation, and student development.
Preferred
- Experience in leading extra-curricular activities related to History.
- Familiarity with the Joe Scott award and other national history competitions.
- Experience with international trips or fieldwork in history.
- Knowledge of using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Experience in supporting students with university applications and career planning.
