As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs. You will deliver a tailored curriculum designed to help students build academic skills, resilience, and social-emotional development. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a creative and adapted curriculum tailored to the needs of students with special educational needs.
- Act as the Lead Teacher and Form Tutor for a small, consistent group of students.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress and well-being.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress to identify and address learning gaps.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans to meet the specific needs of students.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Support students in developing the skills needed to access the wider school curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of the Teachers’ Standards and ability to meet all requirements.
- Experience in delivering a tailored curriculum to students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student well-being and academic success.
Preferred
- Experience working within a secondary school environment.
- Familiarity with primary-model teaching approaches.
- Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.
