As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs. You will deliver a tailored curriculum designed to help students build academic skills, resilience, and social-emotional development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a creative and adapted curriculum tailored to the needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Act as the Lead Teacher and Form Tutor for a small, consistent group of students.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to identify and address learning gaps.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Support students in developing the skills needed to access the wider school curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of the Teachers’ Standards and ability to meet all requirements.
  • Experience in delivering a tailored curriculum to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and academic success.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a secondary school environment.
  • Familiarity with primary-model teaching approaches.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.
