The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Lead Practitioner of Maths to join our Mathematics department and support Key Stage 4 students. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development, while growing professionally within a supportive and inclusive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging maths lessons tailored to the needs of Key Stage 4 students.
  • Support the development of teaching strategies and resources across the department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and effective maths instruction.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support.
  • Participate in professional development and reflective practice to enhance teaching methods.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
  • Contribute to the planning and review of the maths curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of all learners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong understanding of mathematics relevant to Key Stage 4.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Good communication skills for working with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Basic classroom management skills to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting maths education at the secondary level.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Experience working in a team-based environment within a school setting.
  • Enthusiasm for inspiring young people through maths education.
