The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a highly successful department with a track record of outstanding results at GCSE and A Level. The role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a vibrant academic community. Experience in teaching A Level History or Politics is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach up to GCSE level with a commitment to outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Support students in achieving high academic results and personal growth.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the curriculum.
  • Provide high-quality feedback and support to students through peer assessment and individual guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Take on additional leadership responsibilities, such as Second in Department, if applicable.
  • Engage in professional development and continuous improvement of teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in History education.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to participate in the co-curricular life of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level History and/or A Level Politics.
  • Experience working with ECTs (Early Career Teachers) or in a leadership role within a department.
  • Familiarity with the use of peer assessment and student feedback techniques.
  • Background in a Catholic or values-based educational setting.
