The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective History lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and implement a high-quality, curriculum-focused teaching approach.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student progress.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized learning and guidance.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent improvement.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in History and education practice.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and events.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching History at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take on leadership responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a high-achieving school or Multi-Academy Trust.
  • Experience with curriculum development and pedagogical innovation.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or working with diverse student groups.
  • Leadership experience within a department or school context.
