Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a broad range of History topics, including modern British and American history, at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that support student achievement and engagement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an innovative and successful curriculum.
  • Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-level examinations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Engage in professional development and continuous improvement of teaching methods.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student success and well-being.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and pastoral care where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in History education.
  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging lessons.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support the school's values.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Politics at A level.
  • Prior knowledge of modern British and American history.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with examination requirements and assessment strategies.
