The Opportunity:

As a House Parent Summer School, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and welcoming environment for students aged 11-16. You will ensure students are well-informed, safe, and engaged in the school's daily routines and activities, making a meaningful impact on their experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain a positive, homely atmosphere in the boarding house.
  • Support students in understanding and following daily schedules, rules, and expectations.
  • Administer medication and coordinate with the Pupil Services Manager and School Nurse on welfare and medical matters.
  • Supervise and manage the Assistant House Parent and Pupil Support Assistants.
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of students at all times, both on and off duty.
  • Liaise with other school staff to support the academic and personal development of students.
  • Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and care within the house.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in a 24/7 residential setting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a residential or pastoral care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Commitment to the welfare and safety of students.
  • Experience in managing and supervising support staff.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience with international students or multilingual environments.
  • First aid or healthcare training.
