The Opportunity:
As a Pupil Support Assistant Summer School, you will play a key role in supporting students during their time at the school. You will work closely with the pastoral and activity teams to ensure a safe, engaging, and educational experience for international students. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced, international setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students during activities, House time, excursions, and free time to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
- Assist with the pastoral care of students, including monitoring well-being and providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to deliver a high-quality summer school experience.
- Help organize and facilitate a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure compliance with the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and welfare requirements.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to maintain a cohesive and supportive community.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the 24/7 nature of the summer school.
- Contribute to the overall success of the summer school programme through proactive engagement and teamwork.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to support students at varying levels of English proficiency.
Preferred
- Experience in a residential or international school setting.
- Knowledge of teaching English as a second language.
- Previous experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational institution.
- Familiarity with UK education systems or international curricula.
