The Opportunity:

As a Pupil Support Assistant Summer School, you will play a key role in supporting students during their time at the school. You will work closely with the pastoral and activity teams to ensure a safe, engaging, and educational experience for international students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students during activities, House time, excursions, and free time to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Assist with the pastoral care of students, including monitoring well-being and providing guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to deliver a high-quality summer school experience.
  • Help organize and facilitate a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Ensure compliance with the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and welfare requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to maintain a cohesive and supportive community.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the 24/7 nature of the summer school.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the summer school programme through proactive engagement and teamwork.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Proficiency in English, with the ability to support students at varying levels of English proficiency.

Preferred

  • Experience in a residential or international school setting.
  • Knowledge of teaching English as a second language.
  • Previous experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational institution.
  • Familiarity with UK education systems or international curricula.
