The Opportunity:

As a Science Technician, you will support the delivery of a high-quality academic programme during the Summer School. This role involves assisting Science Teachers and helping students aged 11-16 improve their English through engaging science activities. It is a part-time position with accommodation and meals included.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Science Teachers in delivering science-based lessons to international students.
  • Assist students in learning English through science-related activities and experiments.
  • Ensure all science equipment and materials are prepared and maintained to a high standard.
  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment for students during science sessions.
  • Collaborate with other staff to enhance the overall learning experience for students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and equipment usage.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the science laboratory.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a science or educational support role.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with students and staff.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of science subjects and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Commitment to working with international students and supporting their English language development.

Preferred

  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with teaching English as a foreign language (EFL).
  • Previous experience in a school or summer school environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work during the Summer School term.
