Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Health and Social Care curriculum to ensure it meets the highest standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture among teaching staff.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of a high-quality learning experience for all students.
  • Monitor and improve examination results across the subject area.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with institutional objectives.
  • Promote inclusive and innovative teaching practices.
  • Support the professional development of teaching staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role within education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing large teams within a further education setting.
  • Background in sixth form or post-16 education.
  • Experience with professional development and staff training.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
