The Opportunity:
As a Work Experience Adviser, you will support students in gaining valuable work experience and developing essential employability skills. You will coordinate work placements and help students make informed decisions about their future careers. This role plays a key part in preparing students for the world of work and further education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage work placements that align with students' career aspirations and areas of study.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers and partners to ensure meaningful work experience opportunities.
- Support students in preparing for the workplace through guidance and mentorship.
- Deliver careers advice and guidance sessions to help students make informed decisions about their future pathways.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of work experience programmes to ensure they meet learning and development goals.
- Collaborate with the Work-related Learning and Employability Manager to enhance the quality of the programme.
- Promote the school's work experience programme to external stakeholders and potential employers.
- Ensure all activities are in line with safeguarding and welfare policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in coordinating work placements or careers guidance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Commitment to supporting students in their career development.
- Experience working within an educational setting, ideally in further education.
Preferred
- Experience with employability programmes or work-related learning initiatives.
- Knowledge of current trends in careers education and guidance.
- Experience with using digital tools for careers advice and student engagement.
- Experience working with young people and understanding their needs and aspirations.
