Job Description

Summary:

HR Manager needed to lead HR services across three schools with a focus on compliance and employee relations.

The Opportunity:

As an HR Manager, you will lead and support the HR function across multiple schools, ensuring compliance with policies and providing expert guidance on employee relations and recruitment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and dedicated to creating a supportive and compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a small HR team to deliver high-quality HR services across all schools.
  • Provide expert advice and support to Principals/Headteachers, line managers, and employees on HR matters.
  • Handle complex employee relations cases in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, including safeguarding and safer recruitment procedures.
  • Oversee recruitment processes, including conducting and managing safeguarding checks.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
  • Support the development and training of HR staff to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Work closely with the Chief Executive and Deputy to ensure alignment with organisational goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in an HR role within an educational setting, preferably in both state primary and secondary sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing HR teams and delivering HR services across multiple sites.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage complex employee relations cases.

Preferred

  • Experience with recruitment processes and managing large-scale hiring initiatives.
  • Familiarity with educational Trust structures and operations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
