The Opportunity:

The Finance Manager will play a key role in the financial management of the Trust, ensuring strong financial control and compliance across all areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to contribute to a high-performing organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including budget monitoring, management accounts, and payroll oversight.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure financial compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Support the CFO and Assistant Principal (Operations) in strategic financial planning and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies that support the Trust’s growth and partnerships.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant.
  • Collaborate with non-finance colleagues to ensure financial processes support educational outcomes.
  • Assist in the onboarding and integration of new schools within the Trust.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified accountant with relevant professional experience.
  • Proven experience in financial management within an educational or similar organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, compliance, and budgeting.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a finance team.
  • Experience with financial software and accounting systems.
  • Knowledge of educational sector financial practices.
  • Experience in supporting strategic growth and partnership initiatives.
